AEO Audit
AEO Audit scores the pages on your website the way an AI answer engine reads them - so you can see why a page is or isn't getting cited, and exactly what to fix.

What AEO Audit does
AEO Audit builds a list of your pages from your sitemap, then scores any page you choose on two independent 0-100 scores, each with a letter grade (A-F):
- AEO Health - how well the page is built to be understood, trusted, and quoted by AI answer engines.
- Technical Health - classic web hygiene: speed, SEO, accessibility, and best practices.
The two scores are separate on purpose. A page can load fast and pass every technical check yet still be invisible to AI because it's hard to extract answers from - and the reverse is also true.
The two scores
AEO Health
Covers six categories that together decide whether an AI model can find, understand, and trust your page enough to cite it. The emphasis adapts to the page's type (article, product, comparison, FAQ, homepage, documentation).
| Category | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Retrievability | Whether an AI crawler can actually fetch and read the page - robots rules, llms.txt, page speed, indexability, and sitemap inclusion all count here |
| Structure | Word count, headings, lists, and an answer-first layout clean enough for a model to pull a direct answer out of |
| Schema | Structured data (JSON-LD) that labels your content so machines know what it is |
| Evidence | Stats, citations to authoritative sources, and quotes that make the page trustworthy to quote |
| Freshness | Publish and update dates - recency is a signal AI answers favour |
| Off-page | Wikipedia/Wikidata presence, backlink authority, domain age, and other signals from the rest of the web that corroborate the page |
Technical Health
A Lighthouse-based scan covering four areas:
- Performance
- SEO
- Best Practices
- Accessibility
Grades
Both scores carry an A-F grade so you can read a page at a glance before opening the detail.
Running an audit
- Add your sitemap. AEO Audit is brand-scoped - pick a brand first, then add a sitemap URL for that brand's own domain.
- Pages stream in. As the crawl runs, discovered URLs appear in the pages table.
- Select pages and run the audit. Only the pages you select get scored - you can audit one page or many at once.
- Open a page to see its scores, category breakdown, and issue list. Re-audit anytime to track a page's progress over time.
Reading the results
Open any audited page to get:
- Both scores with their A-F grades at the top.
- AEO category breakdown - the six categories above, so you can see whether it's structure, schema, evidence, retrievability, freshness, or off-page authority holding the page back.
- Issues list - each issue is tagged AEO or Technical, rated low / medium / high severity, and comes with a fix recommendation. Work high-severity issues first.

Audit Limits by Plan
Your plan determines how many pages you can audit:
| Plan | Page audits per month |

| Starter | 10 |
| Scale | 2,000 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited |
See Plans & Pricing for full plan details.
Where AEO Audit fits
AEO Audit is where a visibility problem turns into a concrete fix list.
- Visibility Diagnosis helps you find which of your existing pages is losing a prompt, so you know exactly which page to audit - and automatically runs an audit on that page as part of its gap report, so the score is ready when you open it.
- Pair it with Content Gaps to find missing topics and Improve Visibility to prioritise the work.
