The Main Idea Behind This Project
The main idea behind this project is to create corrupt yet structurally valid media files. These files are directed to the appropriate software components in Android for decoding and/or playback. The goal is to monitor the system for potential issues, such as system crashes, which may lead to exploitable vulnerabilities. Custom-developed Python scripts are utilized to transmit the malformed data across a distributed network of Android devices. These scripts log the findings and monitor for possible issues in an automated manner.
Decoding Media Files on Android Devices
The actual process of decoding media files on Android devices is carried out using the Stagefright command line interface.
