Manage the authors who can write and publish content on your portal. Only authors you've assigned to this portal will be shown here.
Portal Authors
Control which authors can contribute to this portal.
- You can assign multiple authors to a single portal
- Each author has their own complete profile with bio, photo, and credentials
- Only authors you assign here can publish content to this portal
Managing Portal Authors
Initial State:
- When no authors configured: "No authors configured for this portal"
Add Author
- Click "Add Author" button to assign existing authors to this portal
- Select from authors in your organization
- You can add multiple authors at once
- Authors must be created in Author section first
Update Author
- Click Edit button (✏️) next to assigned author
- Can update author's role or permissions for this specific portal
- Changes apply only to this portal, not author's global profile
- Update display order or featured status
Delete Author
- Click Delete button (🗑️) next to assigned author
- Removes author's association with this portal
- Does not delete the author profile - only unassigns them
- Their existing published articles remain on the portal
- They will no longer be able to publish new content to this portal
How Authors Work
How to Add Authors:
- First, create author profiles in the Author Management section
- Then come back here to assign them to this specific portal
- Each author maintains their own complete profile separately
Adding Authors - Step by Step:
- Go to the Authors section in your portal settings
- Click the "Add Author" button
- Select one or more authors from the dropdown list
- Click Save or Add
- The author now appears in your portal's author list and can publish content
Creating a New Author
When you create a new author in the Author Management section, you'll fill out these details:
Basic Information
Active/Inactive Status
Toggle whether this author is currently active.
- Active: Author can write and publish content
- Inactive: Author profile is hidden and they cannot publish
- Useful for temporarily disabling authors without deleting them
Name * (Required)
Enter the author's full name.
- This appears on all their articles
- Example: "John Smith", "Dr. Jane Doe"
- Displayed prominently on article bylines
Designation
The author's job title or role.
- Example: "Senior Security Analyst", "Chief Technology Officer", "Cybersecurity Expert"
- Adds credibility and context
- Appears alongside their name on articles
Profile Image URL
Upload or paste the URL to the author's profile photo.
- Click Upload to select an image file, or paste a URL
- Format:
https://example.com/image.jpg - Recommended size: 400x400px (square)
- Appears on articles, author pages, and author cards
- Tip: Use a professional, high-quality headshot
About
Write a brief description about the author.
- A short bio that introduces the author to readers
- Include their background, experience, and what they write about
- 2-3 sentences works well
- Example: "John is a cybersecurity expert with over 10 years of experience in threat intelligence. He specializes in cloud security and has helped Fortune 500 companies protect their infrastructure."
- Appears on author profile pages and at the end of articles
Writing Style
Describe the author's writing style.
- Example: "Technical", "Conversational", "Educational", "Analytical", "Storytelling"
- Helps readers know what to expect
- Useful for matching authors to content types
- Can list multiple styles: "Technical, Conversational"
Expertise
List the author's areas of expertise.
- Example: "AI, Web Development", "Cloud Security, DevOps", "Threat Intelligence, Incident Response"
- Separate multiple areas with commas
- Helps with content assignment and credibility
- Appears on author profiles
Social Links
Connect the author's professional and social media profiles.
Enter the author's LinkedIn profile URL.
- Format:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/authorname - Most important professional link
- Helps readers connect professionally
Website
Enter the author's personal or professional website.
- Format:
https://www.authorwebsite.com - Can be a blog, portfolio, or company site
- Provides additional credibility
X (Twitter)
Enter the author's X (formerly Twitter) profile URL.
- Format:

- Only add links that are active and regularly updated
- Use complete URLs (include
https://) - Icons appear automatically based on the platform
- Social links appear on author profile pages and article bylines
- All social links are optional

Once created, author information is displayed in several places:
- Article Bylines: Name, photo, and designation at the top of articles
- Author Bio Section: Full bio and social links at the end of articles
- Author Profile Pages: Complete profile with all articles, photo, bio, expertise, and social links
- Author Directory: List of all authors with photos and brief descriptions
- Article Cards: Author photo and name on article preview cards
