MKIT: A Managed Kubernetes Inspection Tool

MKIT is a Managed Kubernetes Inspection Tool that utilizes Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) tools to query and validate various common security-related configuration settings of managed Kubernetes cluster objects, as well as the workloads and resources operating within the cluster.

It runs entirely from a local Docker container

It operates completely from a local Docker container. It queries the APIs of your cloud provider and the Kubernetes API to check for specific misconfigurations.

The same Docker container then launches a web UI for results viewing

The same Docker container then starts a web user interface (UI) that allows you to view and navigate the results at localhost:8000. MKIT offers Kubernetes cluster administrators, who prioritize security, a fast way to evaluate several common misconfigurations in their Kubernetes environments. The Managed Kubernetes providers that are supported include Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). Please note: Authenticating to AKS-Engine clusters using Azure Active Directory (AD) is currently not supported.
