Redirects

Redirects are methods used to send both users and search engines to a different URL from the one they originally requested.

Description

In the SEO world, redirects play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and ranking of a website. When a page is moved, deleted, or its URL is changed, using a redirect helps keep the user experience smooth and ensures that search engines understand where the content has moved. Types of redirects include 301 (permanent), 302 (temporary), and others. A 301 redirect tells search engines that the page has permanently moved to a new location, transferring most of the original page's ranking power to the new page. On the other hand, a 302 redirect indicates that the move is temporary, and the original URL should still be indexed. Properly implementing redirects can prevent 404 errors, reduce bounce rates, and ensure that your SEO efforts are not wasted due to lost link equity or broken links.
