# Multi-Brand Setup

Multi-Brand mode lets one workspace track several independent brands - each with its own website, competitors, prompts, and monitors - scored separately, with a workspace-wide roll-up on top.

---

## When to use it

Choose Multi-Brand when you manage distinct brands that don't share a product line:

- an agency tracking several clients,
- a holding company with a portfolio of brands,
- one company running separate house brands.

Each brand is scored on its own, so a strong month for one never masks a weak month for another. If instead you sell several products under **one** company, use [Multi-Product](/docs/setup/multi-product) - the scoring rules differ.

---

## How brands work here

- **Each brand is self-contained** - its own domain, competitors, personas, prompts, and monitor groups.
- **Scope switches per brand.** The brand switcher at the top sets which brand every page is showing.
- **The workspace rolls up.** [Workspace Visibility](/docs/using-gracker/understanding-your-scores/workspace-visibility) aggregates across all your brands so you can compare them side by side.
- **Brand names are unique within the workspace** - two brands can even share nothing but the workspace itself.

---

## Setting up multiple brands

1. **Create the workspace in Multi-Brand mode** (see [Workspace Modes](/docs/setup/workspace-modes)).
2. **Add your first brand** - name, primary domain, and any additional domains it owns. See [Connecting Your First Brand](/docs/setup/brand-management).
3. **Set up that brand fully** - [competitors](/docs/setup/competitors), [personas](/docs/setup/personas), [prompts](/docs/using-gracker/working-with-prompts/prompts), and a [monitor group](/docs/using-gracker/working-with-monitors/monitors).
4. **Add each additional brand** the same way. Repeat step 3 per brand.
5. **Switch between them** with the brand switcher; use [Workspace Visibility](/docs/using-gracker/understanding-your-scores/workspace-visibility) to compare.

How many brands you can track depends on your plan. See [Plans & Pricing](/docs/getting-started/billing) for brand limits.

## Limits & gotchas

- Give each brand its **real domain and any additional domains** it owns - Gracker uses them to detect citations that back the brand.
- Set each brand's **competitors separately** - they drive that brand's Share of Voice and [Visibility Diagnosis](/docs/using-gracker/working-with-prompts/visibility-diagnosis).
- On plans with a brand limit, brands beyond the cap are locked until you upgrade.
