Twingate – Dynamic Portals for Vulnerabilities and Breaches

Zero-trust networking startup Twingate broke through against bigger rivals by using programmatic content to capture security professionals searching for timely, high-value information. Their approach centered on auto-generated portals for cybersecurity data, which rapidly grew Twingate’s organic reach:

CVE Vulnerability Database

Twingate partnered to create hundreds of pages about specific CVE vulnerabilities (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) using data from government and private sources. Each page, built from a template, presented a “CVE [ID] Report – Details, Severity, & Advisories” with simplified descriptions, severity scores, and fix guidance. By programmatically covering long-tail searches like “CVE-2023-1234 vulnerability”, Twingate attracted IT pros concerned with those security flaws.

Data Breach Knowledge Base

Similarly, Twingate launched pages for major corporate data breaches, targeting searches such as “[Company] data breach what happened”. These pages aggregated information (from HaveIBeenPwned, news, company statements) into an easy-to-digest report on each breach. By automatically compiling these details and updating them as new info emerged, Twingate became a go-to resource for breach inquiries – drawing in CISOs and security teams researching incidents.

Scale and Results

In just 7 months (late 2023 to mid-2024), Twingate published 1,400+ of these programmatic pages across the two portals. Thanks to this content, Twingate’s organic traffic nearly doubled – the new pSEO pages reached ~40,000 monthly visits and accounted for 55% of total organic traffic. This was top-of-funnel traffic that previously would have been prohibitively expensive to get via ads or generic blogs. By focusing on less competitive long-tail keywords, Twingate grew brand awareness efficiently.

Automated Updates & Quality

Both the CVE and breach portals were built with automation to stay current. Data feeds and scripts updated each page when a CVE’s status changed or when breach investigations evolved – ensuring the content remained fresh without massive manual effort. Twingate’s marketing team also added value by enhancing raw data (e.g. translating complex NIST bulletins into plain language). This mix of real-time data integration and human curation kept quality high. The end result was a scalable content engine that drove leads (readers concerned about security issues) straight into Twingate’s zero-trust solution.
